Northern Zonal Council Meeting

On 17th November 2025, Union Home Minister chaired the 32nd meeting of the Northern Zonal Council (NZC) in Faridabad, Haryana, where member states discussed critical issues of security, governance, cooperation and regional development.

The meeting began with a two-minute silence to honour those who lost their lives in the recent car bomb blast in Delhi and the explosion at the Nowgam Police Station in Jammu and Kashmir, reflecting the Council’s collective stand against terrorism.
Emphasising the importance of cooperative federalism, Home Minister said that strong states form the foundation of a strong nation and noted that Zonal Councils are vital platforms for dialogue, coordination and policy convergence.
The Home Minister highlighted the urgency of ensuring speedy justice in crimes against women and children, calling for more Fast Track Special Courts to deliver timely verdicts in POCSO Act cases and stressing that no society can tolerate such offences.
