Exercise Suryakiran

From November 25 to December 8, India and Nepal will conduct the 19th edition of the annual bilateral military Exercise Suryakiran in Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand.

• The exercise aims to boost operational synergy between the two armies, particularly in jungle warfare and counter-terrorism operations in mountainous terrain.
• The joint exercise seeks to strengthen interoperability through the integration of niche technologies, exchange of best practices, and enhanced coordination.
• It reflects the shared commitment of both countries toward global peace, security, and deeper defence cooperation, reinforcing mutual trust and camaraderie between the two armies.
• Exercise Suryakiran is conducted annually and alternately in India and Nepal.
