MoSPI Unveils New Logo and Mascot
- 02 Jan 2026
On 1st January 2026, the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) unveiled a new logo and mascot to modernise its institutional identity and strengthen public outreach.
- The initiative aims to reinforce the role of official statistics in policy formulation, nation-building and data-driven governance, while enhancing transparency and public trust.
- The new logo is built around the theme “Data for Development”, highlighting the importance of statistics in India’s economic and social progress.
- The design incorporates the Ashoka Chakra, symbolising truth, transparency and good governance.
- A Rupee symbol at the centre reflects the role of statistical data in economic planning and policymaking.
- Numerical elements in the logo represent modern data systems and statistical science, while an upward growth bar signifies progress supported by reliable data.
- The colour palette - saffron, white, green and deep blue - draws from national colours and represents growth, sustainability, stability and knowledge.
- Alongside the logo, MoSPI introduced its new mascot “सांख्यिकी”, designed to make statistics more accessible and relatable to citizens.
- “सांख्यिकी” will serve as MoSPI’s public-facing identity and be used across surveys, awareness campaigns, educational initiatives, digital platforms and public events.
