Joint Services Multi-Speciality Medical Camp in Lakshadweep

From January 12 to 16, 2026, the Indian Navy conducted a five-day Joint Services Multi-Speciality Medical Camp across Lakshadweep Islands, covering Kavaratti, Agatti, Amini, Androth and Minicoy.

  • Organised with support from the Lakshadweep UT administration and local health authorities, the camp saw 4,719 patients receiving specialist and super-specialist consultations.
  • For the first time in Lakshadweep, advanced specialties such as neurology, cardiology, nephrology, endocrinology and gastroenterology were offered, alongside medicine, surgery, ENT, ophthalmology, dermatology, dental care, radiology and community medicine.
  • The camp delivered 51 general surgeries, 71 cataract operations, over 50 endoscopies, 50+ echocardiograms, 250 ultrasounds, 100+ dental procedures, and multiple cardiac stress tests, all free of cost.
  • Efficient air and sea lift operations highlighted strong tri-services coordination, ensuring rapid deployment of medical teams and equipment.
