Indian Army Signs MoU with IISc

On 23rd January 2026, The Indian Army has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, to develop a fully indigenous Artificial Intelligence-based system through collaborative research and innovation.

• The MoU aims to address emerging challenges in the digital information landscape by leveraging advanced AI technologies.
• According to the Indian Army, the initiative reaffirms its commitment to building a self-reliant India under the Atmanirbhar Bharat vision.
• The collaboration will bring together the Army’s institutional experience, IISc’s academic expertise, and support from Indian industry.
