On 13th February 2026, the Gujarat government appointed veteran banker and industrialist Uday Kotak as the Chairman of Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City) Company Limited with immediate effect.

• The appointment was announced through a resolution issued by the Urban Development and Urban Housing Department.
• Uday Kotak succeeds Dr Hasmukh Adhia, IAS (Retd.), who had been serving as Non-Executive Chairman of the GIFT City Board since June 19, 2023.
• The tenure of the new appointment will continue until further orders, with terms and conditions to be finalised separately.
• GIFT City, located in Gandhinagar, is India’s flagship international financial services hub aimed at attracting global investments and financial institutions.
