6th District Collectors’ Peyjal Samvad

On 17th February 2026, the Department of Drinking Water & Sanitation (DDWS), Ministry of Jal Shakti, organised the 6th District Collectors’ Peyjal Samvad to strengthen implementation of Har Ghar Jal under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM).

  • The focus was on transitioning from asset creation to community-owned and community-managed rural water services for long-term sustainability.
  • Districts shared field innovations in community engagement, water source rejuvenation, smart utilities, digital water user charge collection, water quality monitoring and student-led water audits.
  • The upcoming phase of Jal Jeevan Mission will focus on saturation of single-village schemes, expansion of solar-based infrastructure, asset mapping through PM Gati Shakti and creation of a unified scheme database.
