On 21st February 2026, the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Boehringer Ingelheim India Pvt. Ltd., a private pharmaceutical company, to strengthen pharmaceutical education and research in India.

It promotes collaboration between academia and industry partners.
The agreement supports research-to-market translation in pharmaceuticals.
On the occasion, Cohort 2 of Alliance for Medicinal Research, Innovation, Translation and Value Acceleration (AMRITVA), was also launched.
AMRITVA focuses on converting research into entrepreneurial ventures.
The partnership aims to enhance domestic research capabilities.
It also seeks to improve access to affordable healthcare solutions.
The National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) is a premier group of autonomous public pharmacy institutions in India
It is designated as 'Institutes of National Importance' under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers
