EAM Jaishankar Meets Belgium, Cyprus Leaders in Brussels

On 16th March 2026, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar held meetings with Belgium’s Foreign Minister Maxime Prevot and Cyprus Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos in Brussels to strengthen bilateral cooperation and discuss regional and global issues.

India-Belgium Talks: EAM met Belgium’s Foreign Minister Maxime Prevot and discussed expanding cooperation in trade, investment and emerging sectors such as semiconductors, health, technology and innovation.
Strategic Dialogue: Both countries agreed to establish a Strategic Dialogue to deepen bilateral engagement and enhance cooperation.
India-Cyprus Meeting: EAM also held discussions with Cyprus Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos on strengthening the India-Cyprus strategic partnership.
EU-India Engagement: EAM appreciated Cyprus’ support in advancing engagement between India and the European Union, noting Cyprus currently holds the Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
