On 16th March 2026, Sahitya Akademi announced the winners of the Sahitya Akademi Awards 2025.

  • The awards recognise outstanding literary works in 24 Indian languages.
  • The selected works include poetry, novels, essays, memoirs and literary criticism.
  • Eight poetry collections were selected for the awards.
  • Four novels and six short story collections have also been selected.
  • Two essay volumes, one autobiography and two memoirs were recognised.
  • Navtej Sarna has been selected for the English novel “Crimson Spring”.
  • Mamta Kalia has been selected for the Hindi memoir “Jeete Jee Allahabad”.
  • N. Prabhakaran has been selected for the Malayalam novel “Maayaamanushyar”.
  • Prasun Bandyopadhyay’s Bengali poetry collection “Shrestha Kabita” was selected.
  • Yogesh Vaidya’s Gujarati poetry work “Bhattkhadaki” has also been selected.
  • Nandini Sidha Reddy won for the Telugu poetry collection “Animesha”.
  • Amaresh Nugadoni’s Kannada short story “Dada Seerisu Tande” has been selected.
  • Each award carries a copper plaque, a shawl, and a cash prize of ₹1 lakh.
