On 19th March 2026, Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff signed an MoU with ISRO’s Space Applications Centre.

• The MoU focuses on satellite-based telecommunication support for Armed Forces.
• It includes maintenance of existing telecommunication nodes.
• It also provides for additional satellite communication nodes.
• The agreement was signed by Air Marshal Shankar Subramanian.
• The initiative aims to strengthen defence communication infrastructure.
• It enhances secure and reliable connectivity for Armed Forces.
• Both sides reviewed the current telemedicine infrastructure.
• Organisation is responsible for fostering coordination and enabling prioritisation across the different branches of the Indian Armed Forces.
