Delhi-Dehradun Corridor Inaugurated

On 14th April 2026, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the six-lane Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor in Uttarakhand, boosting regional connectivity.

  • The 213-km access-controlled corridor, built at a cost of over ₹12,000 crore, connects Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand.
  • It is expected to reduce travel time between Delhi and Dehradun from over six hours to around 2.5 hours.
  • The project includes 10 interchanges, multiple bridges, railway overbridges, and 12 wayside amenities.
  • An Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS) has been integrated to enhance safety and traffic efficiency.
  • The corridor features a 12-km elevated wildlife corridor, one of the longest in Asia, along with animal passes and elephant underpasses.
  • A 370-metre tunnel near Daat Kali temple has been constructed to ease traffic flow in the region.
  • The inauguration was attended by Nitin Gadkari and Pushkar Singh Dhami.
  • The project is expected to boost tourism, trade, and economic development in the region.
