MoSPI Releases ‘Women and Men in India 2025’ Report

On 29th April 2026, the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) released the 27th edition of Women and Men in India 2025: Selected Indicators and Data, presenting key gender trends across population, education, health, employment, and leadership in India.

  • Comprehensive Gender Report: The publication was launched at the National Deliberative Summit on “Data for Development” in Bhubaneswar and compiles gender-disaggregated data from multiple ministries and organisations.
  • Improved Sex Ratio at Birth: India’s sex ratio at birth improved from 904 (2017–19) to 917 (2021–23), reflecting progress in female survival and gender balance at birth.
  • Decline in Infant Mortality: Infant mortality rates for both girls and boys showed a sustained decline between 2008 and 2023.
