IPPB Launches SHG Savings Account for Rural Women

On 30th April 2026, India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) launched a dedicated Self Help Group (SHG) savings account to strengthen financial inclusion and empower women-led groups in rural India.

  • The account offers zero balance, zero charges, and no minimum deposit requirement.
  • It is designed to help SHGs integrate into the formal banking system more effectively.
  • Features include aRs.2 lakh maximum balance, quarterly interest payouts, and free basic banking services.
  • IPPB will leverage its extensive postal network and doorstep banking model for outreach.
