On 2nd May 2026, Prasoon Joshi was appointed Chairman of Prasar Bharati.

• A noted lyricist, writer and communications expert, Joshi brings decades of experience in literature, cinema, advertising and public messaging.
• Joshi has served as Chairperson of the Central Board of Film Certification since 2017.
• He held leadership roles as CEO of McCann World Group India and Chairman of McCann World Group Asia Pacific.
• He has been a trustee at the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts since 2016.
• Established under the Prasar Bharati Act, 1990 and operational since 1997, Prasar Bharati oversees All India Radio and Doordarshan.
• The organisation plays a crucial role in disseminating information, promoting cultural heritage and ensuring access to credible public service content across India.
