JANANI Digital Healthcare Platform

Recently, the Union Health Ministry launched JANANI, a digital platform for integrated maternal and child healthcare services.

JANANI stands for Journey of Antenatal, Natal and Neonatal Integrated Care.
The platform was launched during the National Summit on Innovation and Inclusivity: Best Practices Shaping India’s Health Future.
JANANI is an upgraded version of the existing Reproductive and Child Health (RCH) portal.
The platform digitally tracks antenatal care, delivery, postnatal care, newborn care, and family planning services.
JANANI has recorded 1.34 crore beneficiary registrations and over 30 lakh registrations of pregnant women.
The platform introduces QR-enabled digital Mother and Child Health (MCH) cards for portability and easier access to records.
JANANI includes automated alerts for high-risk pregnancies, due-list generation, and real-time monitoring dashboards.
The platform supports interoperability with U-WIN and POSHAN for seamless exchange of beneficiary data.
Registration can be completed using ABHA, Aadhaar-linked OTP, biometric verification, or mobile numbers.
JANANI also provides antenatal visit reminders, immunisation schedules, nutritional guidance, and healthcare facility information.
