119th Martyrdom Day of Khudiram Bose

On 11th August 2026, the nation paid homage to revolutionary freedom fighter Khudiram Bose on his 119th martyrdom day.

Khudiram Bose was one of the youngest revolutionaries of India’s freedom struggle and was executed by the British at the age of 18.
In 1908, Khudiram Bose and revolutionary Prafulla Chaki attempted to assassinate British magistrate Douglas Kingsford in Muzaffarpur, Bihar.
On 30th April 1908, the revolutionaries threw a bomb at a carriage they believed was carrying Kingsford, but two British women were killed in the blast.
Prafulla Chaki later died by suicide while evading arrest, while Khudiram Bose was captured and subsequently sentenced to death.
