Super Garuda Shield 2026

On 31st August 2026, the United States and Indonesia began the annual Super Garuda Shield military exercise.

• The exercise is being held in Indonesia and will continue until 11th September 2026.
• More than 4,700 military personnel from participating countries are taking part.
• 13 other countries, including Japan, South Korea, Australia and Canada, are participating.
• The exercise has been conducted annually since 2006.
• It is the first edition since the US and Indonesia announced a new defence partnership in 2026.
