NITI Aayog launched the “India S&T Scoreboard”

On 3rd November 2026, NITI Aayog launched the “India S&T Scoreboard” at the Civil Services Officer’s Institute (CSOI), KG Marg, New Delhi by Shri Ashok Kumar Lahiri, Vice Chairman, NITI Aayog.

Integrated Interactive Platform: Functions as an interactive dashboard providing an integrated view of the science & technology landscape across Indian States and UTs.
Comprehensive Data Aggregation: Unifies fragmented data on the S&T ecosystem -including higher education institutions, R&D labs, deep tech startups, and incubators -alongside outputs such as research publications and patents.
In-Depth Indicators: Tracks indicators of research quality, impact, open access, and collaboration across three key sectors: Academia, Government R&D Labs, and Industry.
Benchmarking & Analysis: Enables side-by-side comparisons of States/UTs, historical trend tracking, and detailed State profiles featuring local policies and best practices.

Evidence-Based Policymaking: Designed to assist States and UTs in identifying expertise, addressing gaps, and designing targeted S&T programs.
