On 6^th November, 2023, the inaugural meeting of the Australia India Education and Skill Council (AIESC) took place at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Gandhinagar.

• Evolution of AIESC's Scope: The AIESC, previously known as the Australia India Education Council (AIEC), was established in 2011 as a bi-national body to guide the strategic direction of education, training, and research partnerships between Australia and India.
• The forum's scope has been broadened to align with the national priorities of both nations, focusing on promoting internationalization, two-way mobility, and collaboration in education and the skill ecosystem.
• Visits to Key Educational Institutions: The ministers will visit significant institutions to identify critical themes for collaboration, including the Centre for Creative Learning (CCL) at IIT Gandhinagar, Gift City sites of Deakin University, University of Wollongong campuses, and Arambh: Australian University campuses in India.
• Research Dialogue for Deepening Collaboration: A key feature of the second-day interaction is a discussion on "Research Dialogue: New Horizon in Research Collaboration."
