Recently, Indian Army plans to raise two Army Girls Sports Companies to train young girls in various sports disciplines.

• Indian Army to establish two Army Girls Sports Companies to train young girls in shooting, archery, athletics, boxing, and weightlifting.
• AGSCs to be fully functional from April 2024, located at Army Marksmanship Unit, Mhow, and Army Sports Institute, Pune.
• Aim is to identify talent, provide formal education, and train girls to be champions in sports.
• AGSCs aligned with national vision of women empowerment and sports policy to achieve more podium finishes at Olympics.
• Girls at AGSCs eligible for recruitment as Direct Entry Non-Commissioned Officers and Junior Commissioned Officers.
• Role models like Subedar Preeti Rajak and Jasmine Lamboria to inspire young talent in sports.
