Revised MGNREGS Wages: States Report 8-10% Hike

On 27th March, Union government notified revised MGNREGS wages with 8-10% hikes in several states.
- Variation in Wage Hikes: States witness increases ranging from Rs. 7 to Rs. 34, with significant jumps reported in several regions.
 - Notable Increases: Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and Goa see hikes ranging from 8% to 10.5%.
 - Bihar's Revision: Wages revised upward by Rs. 17, indicating improvement in rural employment conditions.
 - Regional Disparities: Haryana offers highest daily wage at Rs. 374, while Uttar Pradesh has one of the lowest at Rs. 237.
 - Implementation Challenges: Union Rural Development Ministry requires special permission from Election Commission for notification issuance.
 - Workforce Statistics: Total of 14.34 crore active workers, with nationwide average days of employment falling short of promised 100 days.
