On 17th January 2025, Bengaluru-based startup Pixxel launched India’s first private earth-imaging satellite constellation, Firefly, showcasing advancements in hyperspectral imaging technology.

- Historic Milestone: Pixxel became the first private Indian company to launch a constellation of earth-imaging satellites, marking a significant achievement in the space sector.
 - High-Resolution Technology: The Firefly satellites are the world's highest-resolution commercial hyperspectral satellites, capable of observing the earth in over 150 spectral bands.
 - Launch Details: Three of Pixxel’s six satellites were launched aboard a SpaceX rocket from California, USA, marking a global collaboration in satellite deployment.
