Government Launches ‘Entity Locker’

On 20th January 2025, the Indian government introduced Entity Locker, a secure digital platform designed to simplify the management and verification of business and organizational documents.

- Purpose: Entity Locker aims to streamline document management for corporations, MSMEs, trusts, startups, and societies, enhancing ease of doing business.
 - Developed By: Created by the National eGovernance Division (NeGD) under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY).
 - Features: Real-time integration with government databases. Consent-based, Aadhaar-authenticated role-based access.
 - Integration with Systems: The platform links to systems like MCA, GSTN, and DGFT, providing instant access to essential documents.
 - Alignment with DPI Goals: As part of India’s Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI), Entity Locker supports the Union Budget 2024-25’s focus on digital governance and reducing administrative burdens.
