PM-AASHA Scheme Extended Until 2025-26

On 17th February 2025, the Centre approved the continuation of the Pradhan Mantri Annadata Aay Sanrakshan Abhiyan (PM-AASHA) scheme through the 15th Finance Commission cycle, ensuring fair prices for farmers and stable commodity prices for consumers.
Key Points
- Price Support Scheme (PSS): Government procures pulses, oilseeds, and copra at Minimum Support Price (MSP) through Central Nodal Agencies (CNAs).
 - 100% Procurement: Tur (Arhar), Urad, and Masur will be fully procured under PSS for the 2024-25 procurement year to boost self-sufficiency.
 - State Approvals: Procurement of 13.22 LMT of Tur (Arhar) approved in 9 states, including Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Maharashtra.
 - Ongoing Procurement: 0.15 LMT of Tur (Arhar) already procured, benefiting 12,006 farmers.
