Centre Revamps National Security Advisory Board

On 30th March 2025, Former Research and Analysis Wing (R&AW) chief Alok Joshi has been appointed as the new chairman of the NSAB, bringing extensive intelligence experience to the top advisory role.
- The NSAB, which advises the National Security Council Secretariat, plays a crucial role in shaping India’s national security strategies and policy direction.
- The timing of the revamp has drawn attention as it follows the recent Pahalgam terror attack that is believed to have cross-border implications.
- Former Western Air Commander Air Marshal PM Sinha has been inducted into the board, bringing deep operational and strategic air force expertise.
