Ayurveda Day
- 14 May 2025
On 14th May 2025, the Government of India officially fixed 23rd September as the annual date for observing Ayurveda Day, replacing the earlier practice of aligning it with Dhanteras.
- The decision was announced through a Gazette notification issued by the Ministry of Ayush, marking a permanent change in the observance date.
- Previously, Ayurveda Day was celebrated on Dhanteras, a date which varies each year according to the lunar calendar.
- The new fixed date of 23rd September ensures consistency and resolves the logistical difficulties associated with planning large-scale national and global events.
