NPG Reviews 5 Key Infra Projects Under PM GatiShakti

On 28th May 2025, at its 94th meeting, the Network Planning Group (NPG) evaluated five major infrastructure projects focused on metro and aviation connectivity under the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan.

  • The NPG reviewed four Metro Rail projects and one Greenfield Airport proposal for alignment with PM GatiShakti’s goals of multimodal integration, last-mile connectivity, and logistics efficiency.
  • The first metro project involves a 2.16 km underground extension from the Aerocity–Tughlakabad corridor to IGI Terminal-1, aiming to improve airport connectivity for South Delhi residents and commuters from Faridabad.
  • The second project is a 9.913 km underground Magenta Line extension connecting RK Ashram Marg to Indraprastha, linking major landmarks like Central Vista, India Gate, and Pragati Maidan to promote clean public transit.
  • A 9 km elevated metro line from Tughlakabad to Kalindi Kunj was also assessed, including an interchange at Kalindi Kunj to connect Violet and Magenta lines and improve transit across Delhi and Noida.
  • The fourth project is a 17.435 km corridor from Noida Sector-51 to Knowledge Park V in Greater Noida, aimed at meeting the growing mobility needs of the expanding township in Greater Noida West.
