On 4th June 2025, Indian Prime Minister congratulated Lee Jae-myung on becoming President of South Korea, reaffirming India's commitment to deepening the India–ROK Special Strategic Partnership.
- Lee Jae-myung was declared President of the Republic of Korea after winning a snap election triggered by the impeachment of former President Yoon Suk Yeol.
- Lee, a centre-left candidate, secured 49.4% of the vote, defeating conservative opponent Kim Moon-soo, who garnered 41.2%.
