  • 12 Jun 2025

On 10th June 2025, Digital India Bhashini Division (DIBD) and the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS) signed an MoU to integrate AI-powered multilingual solutions into major railway platforms.

  • The collaboration will embed BHASHINI’s advanced language stack—featuring speech recognition, translation, text-to-speech, and OCR—into systems like NTES and RailMadad.
  • With the integration, passengers will be able to access railway services in 22 Indian languages across various touchpoints.
  • The partnership aims to develop AI-driven chatbots and voice assistants to support passengers in their preferred language.
  • Multilingual interfaces will also be introduced at railway enquiry counters to make service access more inclusive and user-friendly.
  • The rollout includes deployment across digital platforms like websites, mobile apps, kiosks, and call centres using scalable cloud and on-premise infrastructure.
  • The initiative will be guided by joint technical workshops and pilot trials scheduled to begin over the next few months.
