Monsoon Safety Campaign

On 24th June, 2025, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) began a 15-day nationwide inspection and preparedness campaign to mitigate waterlogging and flood risks across India's national highways during the monsoon season.

NHAI officials, contractors, and consultants are inspecting monsoon-vulnerable highway stretches to pinpoint areas susceptible to waterlogging, landslides, and other seasonal hazards.
Special attention is being paid to clearing and maintaining bridges, culverts, and other drainage infrastructure to ensure uninterrupted water flow and prevent traffic disruptions.
Rainwater harvesting structures are being cleaned and desilted, and repairs are underway on damaged drains and outlets to enhance drainage efficiency in flood-prone zones.
Simultaneously, pothole repairs are being carried out on both the main carriageways and adjoining slip roads to improve road conditions and reduce accident risks.
