On 23rd June, 2025, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed that former Indian left-arm spinner Dilip Doshi passed away in London at the age of 77 due to heart-related complications.

  • Dilip Doshi played 33 Test matches for India between 1979 and 1983, claiming 114 wickets at an average of 30.71, and registering six five-wicket hauls during his international career.
  • He also featured in 15 One Day Internationals (ODIs) for India, taking 22 wickets with an impressive economy rate of 3.96, further demonstrating his consistency in the shorter format.
  • Making his Test debut at the relatively late age of 32, Doshi broke into the national team after the famed era of India’s legendary spin quartet, bringing his unique style to the international stage.
