India-Vietnam Political Consultation and Strategic Dialogue

On 25th June 2025, India and Vietnam held the 13th Political Consultation and 10th Strategic Dialogue in New Delhi, Ministry of External Affairs (East), and Nguyen ManhCuong, Deputy Foreign Minister of Vietnam.
Key Points
- Comprehensive Strategic Partnership: Both sides reviewed the progress of their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, based on the ‘Joint Vision for Peace, Prosperity and People’ (adopted in December 2020) and the Plan of Action for 2024–2028 (signed in August 2024).
- Areas of Cooperation: Discussions covered politics, defence and security, maritime cooperation, trade and investment, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, energy, science, and technology.
- Development Projects: India and Vietnam expressed satisfaction with collaboration in heritage conservation, Quick Impact Projects, ITEC and e-ITEC programmes, and scholarship exchanges.
- Regional and Global Issues: Both sides exchanged views on regional and global developments, and jointly condemned terrorism in all its forms, including cross-border terrorism.
- Cultural Diplomacy: Vietnam thanked India for organising the first-ever exposition of the Holy Relics of Lord Buddha in May 2025.
- Act East & Indo-Pacific: India reaffirmed Vietnam’s position as a key partner in its Act East Policy, MAHASAGAR Vision, and broader Indo-Pacific strategy.
