24 Part-Time Members Selected for NMC

On 15th July 2025, the Union Health Ministry appointed 24 part-time members to the National Medical Commission (NMC) and its four autonomous boards through a draw of lots.
- Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda participated in the selection process, which included appointments to the NMC, its autonomous boards, and the search committee.
- As per official procedure, 10 part-time members were chosen from among the State and Union Territory government nominees in the Medical Advisory Council.
- These members represent Gujarat, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Andhra Pradesh, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Jharkhand, Chandigarh, and Madhya Pradesh.
- Additionally, nine part-time members were selected from State Medical Council nominees who had earlier been appointed to the Medical Advisory Council in 2022.
- The draw-of-lots method was used to ensure a fair and transparent selection process, involving officials and observers in the presence of the Health Minister.
