Heritage Tourism Conclave

On 25th July 2025, the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) hosted the 14th International Heritage Tourism Conclave at the grand Lukshmi Villas Palace in Vadodara, Gujarat, in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, Gujarat Tourism, Delhi Tourism, IndiGo, and IRCTC.

  • The conclave, themed “Cherishing Heritage,” served as a platform to discuss strategies and policies to promote heritage-led tourism in India through collaborative efforts across sectors.
  • The event was inaugurated by Rajender Kumar, Secretary of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Devasthanam Management & Pilgrimage, Government of Gujarat, who emphasized Gujarat’s approach of linking monument restoration with community welfare.
  • The PHDCCI-KPMG Heritage Tourism Report was launched during the event, emphasizing the importance of adaptive reuse of heritage assets and sustainable community-based tourism initiatives.
  • One of the major sessions focused on Gujarat’s community-centric heritage model, which includes artisan engagement, local employment creation, and the conversion of historic structures into functional cultural spaces.
