Anuradha Thakur Appointed to RBI Board

On 25th July, 2025, the Central Government appointed Anuradha Thakur, Secretary of the Department of Economic Affairs, as a Director on the Central Board of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), replacing Ajay Seth.

Anuradha Thakur’s nomination to the RBI Board is effective immediately and will remain in place until further orders, as confirmed by an official release.
The announcement was made following the release of a government notification and ahead of the RBI’s upcoming Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting in early August.
The next MPC meeting is scheduled from August 4 to 6, with the policy decision expected on August 6, focusing on inflation control and economic momentum.
