Arunachal’s Kabak Yano Scales Europe’s Highest Peak

On 16th August 2025, Arunachal Pradesh mountaineer Kabak Yano successfully summited Mount Elbrus, the highest peak in Russia and Europe, marking another milestone in her Seven Summits Challenge.

  • Located in the Caucasus Mountains of southwestern Russia near the Georgian border, Mount Elbrus stands at 18,510 feet above sea level and is classified as a dormant stratovolcano.
  • The mountain is not only Europe’s highest peak but also the highest volcano in Eurasia, and it ranks among the ten most prominent peaks globally, making it a key part of the Seven Summits Challenge.
  • This triumph follows her recent success on 4th August 2025, when she summited Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, the highest peak in Africa at 5,895 metres, which is also the tallest free-standing mountain in the world.
