Bihar Extends Allowance Scheme to Graduates

  • 18 Sep 2025

On 18th September 2025, Bihar Chief Minister announced the expansion of the Mukhyamantri Nischay Swayam Sahayata Bhatta Yojana, bringing unemployed male and female graduates from Arts, Science, and Commerce streams under its scope.

  • The scheme, officially titled Mukhyamantri Nischay Swayam Sahayata Bhatta Yojana, will now provide an assured monthly allowance of 1,000 rupees for a maximum period of two years to eligible unemployed graduates across the state.
  • This decision marks an important extension, as previously the scheme was only available to youths who had completed their intermediate or 12th grade level, leaving out a large number of graduates struggling to find jobs.
  • The expansion is specifically designed for graduates falling within the 20 to 25 age group who are not pursuing further education and are actively seeking jobs or employment, thereby ensuring the scheme directly supports those most in need.
  • Applicants will only qualify for the allowance if they are neither self-employed nor engaged in any kind of government, private, or non-governmental jobs, making the financial support exclusive to genuinely unemployed youths.
