EPFO Launches ‘Passbook Lite’

On 18th September 2025, the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) introduced two major reforms—‘Passbook Lite’ on the members’ portal and direct access to Annexure K—aimed at improving transparency, efficiency, and member satisfaction.

  • EPFO launched ‘Passbook Lite’ within its members’ portal to provide a summarised view of contributions, withdrawals, and current balance.
  • Currently, members had to log in separately to the ‘Passbook Portal’ to view their PF details.
  • Union Labour Minister said the new facility will reduce login delays, password synchronisation issues, and grievances.
  • Passbook Lite’ reduces load on the existing portal while still allowing access to the detailed ‘Passbook Portal’ for comprehensive views and graphical displays.
