On 18th September 2025, Uttar Pradesh state government announced that it will roll out the fifth phase of Chief Minister’s flagship programme Mission Shakti on 22nd September 2025 to coincide with Shardiya Navratri, focusing on women’s empowerment and security for 30 days.

  • The campaign will intensify foot patrolling, ensure all PRV-112 vehicles remain active on roads, and mandate senior police officers to personally engage with the public, inspect Police Lines, and join patrols to build public trust and deter criminals.
  • Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasized that enforcement of law must be gender-neutral, and criminals should face strict action irrespective of their gender.
  • Women personnel will play a central role in this phase, with 44,177 deployed across the state, and female beat officers assigned to all 57,000 village panchayats and 14,000 urban wards to engage with women and girls directly.
  • These officers will inform women about their rights, government welfare schemes, and available emergency help channels while addressing their issues and concerns.
  • Special deployment of women police will be made at temples, religious sites, fairs, and other public places during Navratri and upcoming festivals to ensure safety and order.
