Mohanlal to Receive Dadasaheb Phalke Award 2023

On 20th September 2025, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting announced that legendary actor Mohanlal will be honoured with the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award for the year 2023, recognising his extraordinary contribution to Indian cinema.

The announcement was made through an official social media post by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, confirming that the decision was based on the recommendation of the Dadasaheb Phalke Award Selection Committee.
Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw extended his congratulations to Mohanlal, praising him for bringing the beauty of Kerala’s culture to the global stage and highlighting how his work continues to magnify India’s cultural aspirations.
