- First Instalment: The initial phase of the scheme successfully provided 8 crore LPG connections to eligible households across the country.
- Second Instalment: Launched in August 2021, the second phase set segregated targets for the period between 2022 and 2024, ensuring broader coverage and inclusion.
- Targeted Subsidy: In August 2025, the government approved a targeted subsidy of ₹300 per 14.2 kg cylinder and increased the number of eligible refills to 9 per year.
- Funding for Latest Release: The government will spend ₹676 crore for the release of 25 lakh connections, including ₹512.5 crore for providing deposit-free connections at ₹2,050 per connection.
- Impact: This latest initiative aims to further enhance energy access for women in poor households, strengthening the scheme’s objective of clean cooking fuel availability across India.
