Satcom Summit at IMC 2025

On 8th October 2025, Union Minister for Communications inaugurated the Satcom Summit on Space Networks for Universal Connectivity during the India Mobile Congress 2025 held in New Delhi, underscoring India’s vision to achieve universal digital inclusion through satellite communication.
- The Minister emphasized that satellite communication (Satcom) will play a transformative role in bridging the last-mile connectivity gap by extending high-speed digital access to even the most remote and geographically challenging regions of India.
- India has successfully installed 4.8 lakh 5G towers, connecting 99.9% of the country’s population, a milestone that reflects the country’s strong commitment to rapid technological progress and inclusive connectivity.
- Out of the total target, nearly 29,000 villages have already been connected to high-speed digital networks, marking a significant step forward in India’s ambition to achieve 100% digital inclusion across all regions.
