India-Netherland Hold 13th Foreign Office Consultations

On 5th December 2025, India and the Netherlands held the 13th round of Foreign Office Consultations (FOC) in New Delhi, reviewing progress across major pillars of their bilateral partnership and identifying new areas for cooperation.
Key Points
- Review of Priority Sectors: Delegations assessed cooperation in critical technologies (AI, semiconductors), science and technology, green hydrogen, shipping, defence, and security, with an aim to add deeper strategic value to the partnership.
- WAH Agenda Progress: Progress under the Water, Agriculture, and Health (WAH) agenda was reviewed, reaffirming mutual commitment to sustainable development-focused collaboration.
- Economic Partnership: Both sides acknowledged steady growth in trade and investment and underscored the need to conclude the India–EU Free Trade Agreement by end-2025.
- Counterterrorism Discussions: Regional and global issues were discussed, including counterterrorism. India reiterated its zero-tolerance stance against terrorism.
- Cultural & People-to-People Links: The strong cultural foundation and the contribution of the Indian community in the Netherlands were appreciated as key elements strengthening bilateral ties.
- Future Consultations: Recognising the FOC as an essential institutional mechanism, both countries agreed to continue regular consultations, with the next round to be held in the Netherlands at a mutually convenient date.
