India Unveils Quantum Economy Roadmap

On 4th December 2025, NITI Aayog’s Frontier Tech Hub released a national roadmap aimed at positioning India as a leading quantum-powered economy by accelerating R&D, talent development, commercialisation, and secure quantum infrastructure.

The roadmap emphasises that quantum technologies are becoming globally indispensable across sectors such as healthcare, finance, logistics, energy, national security, and advanced computing, establishing them as foundational pillars for future AI, biotechnology, and secure communication ecosystems.
Addressing the event, NITI Aayog CEO B. V. R. Subrahmanyam called for unified national efforts to make India one of the top three quantum economies by 2025, asserting that Hyderabad possesses the ideal ecosystem to evolve into India’s first dedicated “Quantum City.”
