On 16th December 2025, police authorities in Bihar’s Motihari launched a dedicated safety initiative to crack down on harassment and crimes against women near educational institutions.

• The special brigade has been constituted on the directions of the police headquarters as part of a broader strategy to prevent crimes against women and schoolgirls across the district.
• Under the campaign, dedicated Abhaya Brigade teams have been formed in nearly all 50 police stations of the district to ensure wide coverage and regular patrolling.
• Each team consists of one female police officer, two female constables and one male constable, ensuring both sensitivity and operational effectiveness during field duties.
