Malayalam Film Industry Veteran Sreenivasan Passes Away

On 20th December 2025, veteran Malayalam actor, screenwriter and filmmaker Sreenivasan passed away at the age of 69, marking the end of an era in Malayalam cinema.

Over a career spanning nearly five decades, he emerged as one of the most influential creative forces in Malayalam cinema, shaping its popular narrative style through humour, realism and sharp social observation.
As an actor, he featured in nearly 225 films, earning wide acclaim for portraying ordinary, flawed and conflicted characters with remarkable authenticity and emotional depth.
His most enduring legacy lies in his work as a screenwriter, having written several landmark films such as Sanmanassullavarkku Samadhanam, TP Balagopalan MA, Gandhinagar Second Street, Nadodikkattu, Thalayana Manthram, Varavelpu and Udayananu Tharam.
