India Re-elected to ICAO Council

In December 2025, India was re-elected to the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) with one of the highest mandates among member states.
- He informed that he recently reviewed India’s support to ICAO’s No Country Left Behind (NCLB) initiative.
- Under this initiative, India has emerged as a key partner by extending technical assistance and capacity-building support to developing countries.
- India has also played an important role in promoting the harmonisation and implementation of ICAO’s Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs).
- The re-election strengthens India’s position in shaping global aviation policies, safety standards, and capacity-building efforts worldwide.
