5th National Conference of Chief Secretaries

From 26-28 December 2025, Prime Minister chaired the fifth National Conference of Chief Secretaries at Pusa, New Delhi.

The overarching theme of the conference was “Human Capital for Viksit Bharat”, emphasising people-centric development as the foundation of India’s growth journey.
PM Modi said the conference strengthens Centre-State cooperation, cooperative federalism and collective decision-making for national development.
Noting India’s demographic dividend, the Prime Minister said nearly 70% of the population is of working age, offering a historic opportunity to accelerate development if effectively harnessed.
He urged the Centre and States to jointly identify 100 products for domestic manufacturing to reduce import dependence and boost economic resilience.
