NHAI Sets Two Guinness World Records

On 7th January 2026, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has achieved two Guinness World Records for laying Bituminous Concrete on the Vanavolu-Vankarakunta section of the Bengaluru-Kadapa-Vijayawada Economic Corridor.

  • The records include around 29 lane-kilometres, the longest distance of Bituminous Concrete laid continuously within 24 hours, and over 10,000 metric tonnes, the highest quantity laid continuously within 24 hours.
  • NHAI said the 343-km-long corridor will significantly strengthen inter-state connectivity between Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.
  • The corridor is expected to boost trade, tourism and regional economic growth by enabling faster, safer and uninterrupted mobility.
  • NHAI said the record-setting achievements reflect India’s growing capability and commitment to world-class National Highway infrastructure.
  • The Authority added that two more Guinness World Record attempts are currently underway on the Vanavolu-Vankarakunta-Odulapalle section of NH-544G.
